But, driving in snow is a \u00a0nightmare for new drivers. Icy roads and\u00a0sliding cars make it tough to drive in snow and ice. Here are some tips\u00a0and best practices for driving in snow.<\/p>\n<p>Snow and icy conditions make it difficult to drive. Drivers must\u00a0exercise extreme caution while <a title=\"Driving tips\" href=\"http:\/\/www.kuulstuff.com\/blog\/?p=14\" target=\"_blank\">driving <\/a>in snow and ice. Here are some tips and best practices.<\/p>\n<p><script type=\"text\/javascript\"><!--\ngoogle_ad_client = \"pub-1297284887870121\";\n\/* Snow gear, created 12\/6\/10 *\/\ngoogle_ad_slot = \"1968718486\";\ngoogle_ad_width = 300;\ngoogle_ad_height = 250;\n\/\/-->\n<\/script><br \/>\n<script type=\"text\/javascript\"\nsrc=\"http:\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/show_ads.js\">\n<\/script><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Do not drive until the roads are cleared<\/li>\n<li>Start the engine and set the temperature to maximum<\/li>\n<li>Start the glass heaters in front and rear<\/li>\n<li>Clear the snow and ice of all the glasses<\/li>\n<li>Use a snow scraper to wipe off the ice and snow<\/li>\n<li>Do not use wipers to clear the ice or snow<\/li>\n<li>Drive slowly and maintain two car \u00a0or seven second distance between cars<\/li>\n<li>Check and maintain the fuel, tires, breaks, battery, and traction<\/li>\n<li>If the sunlight is less, use your car lights to let the other driver know about your vehicle<\/li>\n<li>Wear winter gear to keep your self warm<\/li>\n<li>Set extra clothes in your car to keep you warm if the car breaks down<\/li>\n<li>Keep salt bag or any other weight in the car to maintain traction<\/li>\n<li>Use a de-icer to minimize the snow accumulation<\/li>\n<li>If the breaks fail, hold the steering steadily and drive in the direction you want the car to go<\/li>\n<li>Press the breaks on and off in case car starts skidding or sliding<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Black ice is dangerous as the vehicle may skid. Further, due to unpredictable road conditions, it is not advisable to drive in &#8216;Cruise&#8217; mode in long journeys.\u00a0During the holiday season, it is also essential to check the weather before planning any travel.
